Ivaylo Kostadinov at the National Monitoring Centre for Biodiversity

The National Monitoring Centre for Biodiversity (NMZB) aims at developeing the nationwide biodiversity monitoring infrastructure by connecting stakeholders, research and practice.

A big part of this work is to organize and host events and workshops on topics regarding methods, tools and services relevant to the broader topic of monitoring.

For one of these events, speakers Dr. Ivaylo Kostadinov and Prof. Dr. Philipp Wieder (Gesellschaft für Biologische Daten e.V. (GFBio)) will present and promote the Research Data Commons (RDC).

The Research Data Commons (RDC) is a federated, cloud-based research infrastructure designed to support scientists, data providers, and data consumers in creating and sharing FAIR data products. It is expandable, adaptable and scalable in its usage and developement.

The NFDI4Biodiversity has laid the technical foundation to get the service off the ground by integrating community services into the framework and providing community driven use cases to showcase the RDC's potential.
