BiodiversiTea – die NFDI4Biodiversity Coffee Lecture #21

The online format BiodiversiTea offers a forum for presenting and discussing work, projects, tools, and topics from and around the NFDI4Biodiversity community. Once a month, we meet online for an hour – for exciting presentations and lively discussions over a cup of tea (or coffee). The session is open to anyone who would like to find out about and discuss current developments and topics relating to biodiversity data. Membership of NFDI4Biodiversity is not necessary.

The Cloud-based Workflow Manager (CloWM) - An integrated platform for highly scalable workflow executions

Abstract
The Cloud-based Workflow Manager (CloWM, pronounced /klaʊm/) is a fully open-source, web-based platform designed for the scalable and reproducible execution of scientific pipelines in the cloud. It acts as a user-friendly bridge between complex computational workflows, such as those built with Nextflow, and high-performance cloud infrastructure, primarily leveraging the de.NBI Cloud.
Researchers can browse a curated catalog of currently over 50 best-practice workflows, configure parameters through an automatically generated interface, and execute analyses without needing expertise in command-line tools or server management. By combining integrated S3 storage support and a powerful cloud-based execution layer with an intuitive user interface, CloWM ensures that data-intensive research remains transparent and reproducible for the scientific community. The CloWM platform can be accessed free of charge at: https://clowm.bi.denbi.de.
