Proposal for the second funding phase presented to DFG reviewers
“We gave it our all and hope that we were able to convince the experts,” said Frank Oliver Glöckner, spokesperson for NFDI4Biodiversity, after the evaluation in Bonn. The first results will be announced on January 15.
A further step towards the second funding phase has been taken: five representatives of the consortium traveled to the German Research Foundation (DFG) in Bonn on November 20, 2024 to present the continuation proposal submitted in August to the reviewers. The panel provided an opportunity to discuss the content of the proposal, clarify questions and align expectations.
“We have experienced great and very constructive interest in the NFDI and our consortia.”
Barbara Ebert, Deputy Spokesperson NFDI4Biodiversity
“We were able to respond to many of the experts' questions and experienced great and very constructive interest in the NFDI and our consortia,” says Barbara Ebert, deputy spokesperson for the consortium, summarizing her impressions. In addition to the NFDI4Biodiversity team, the colleagues from DataPLANT also presented themselves to the national and international panel of experts as well as the members of the NFDI expert committee and the DFG's NFDI team.
Initial feedback will be provided on January 15, when the results of the scientific review will be announced. The consortium will then have the opportunity to comment once again before the further approval process takes its course. "We have given it our all and hope that we have been able to convince the experts," says Frank Oliver Glöckner, spokesperson for NFDI4Biodiversity. So now it's time to keep your fingers crossed!
