Now open: Flexfunds Call 2025

Call_for_Proposals

Financial support for promising projects: Members of the consortium can now reapply for funding for smaller projects that meaningfully complement and enrich the work program of the second funding phase.

Flexible funding for service optimization, data mobilization and more

In addition to the fixed budget for the work program, the Flexfunds are flexible funds that can be used to support promising activities. Eligible for funding  are projects related to NFDI4Biodiversity that contribute to the improved availability and usability of research data – such as the development of new services and tools, the standardization and mobilization of data according to the FAIR principles, the creation of training materials or open access publications, but also, for example, trade fair appearances or the support of subcommunities. An important selection criterion is that the Flexfunds project fits in profitably with the work program for the upcoming funding phase.

Funding of 10,000 to 70,000 euros possible
Approved projects may be supported with a funding amount of 10,000 to 70,000 euros. The standard term is usually one year from January 2026, but can be extended if necessary. The application deadline is May 7, 2025.

All members of the NFDI4Biodiversity partner institutions (in collaboration with their respective Principal Investigator (PI)) can apply for funding.

Call now open

The call for proposals is now open. Further information on eligible projects, the further procedure and contact persons can be found here.

Another opportunity to get involved: the NFDI4Biodiversity Topic Tables

Are you already familiar with the new Topic Tables format? The working groups, in which partner institutions of the consortium can get together with other partners or external contributors and jointly advance pressing issues, are also now open for your ideas.
